NaOH & Water solution superheated

Hi all,

Do you have experience about can you superheat the NaOH 2-5% water solution and get violent eruption of vapour, like from destiled water in microwae.
If yes what are required condition for this to happen.

No idea, but it definitely sounds more dangerous than just pure water.

Thanks for response, I appreciate it.

Yes, its more dangerous than water for sure, just wondering how is it related to NaOH regarding precondition for superheating to exist.  For water it is more probable to happen with destiled water than tap water, but for NaOH I have no ide, so any info around this would be valuble.

The dissolution of sodium hydroxide in water is accompanied by the release of an amount of heat because the solvation of hydroxide ions and sodium ions is highly exothermic. Solvation is the process by which ions in a solid dissociate from each other and interact with water molecules.
