Moles of Cations/Anions

How can I find moles of cations/anions?  I can't find an example in my book or notes. The first part of the problem is 1 mol of KClO4. Thanks.

In EVERY compound/solution, the total charge of the cations has to equal the total charge of the anions.  So if you have one mole of +1 charged ions, you must also have one mole of -1 charged ions.  So the first thing you need to do is figure out what ions you have present.  Then it's really quite simple.

I am a dork: I have flash cards with all of the common cations and anions and their charges.  I didn't realize it was just that easy. Thank you !!!!
