hi everyone,

what is the best way to get rid of hydrogen gas without being outside?

What does it meant not being outside. Normaly you can burn it to get water.

i just mean hydrogen gas being indoors instead of it being given off outdoors.

the reason i'm asking this question is because i don't have an outside area where the hydrogen gas can be given off.

but how would that be done safely? because it will explode/catch fire if heat or a spark is introduced to it. (the h2 gas is a by product of a reaction i'm doing).

A lot depends on the experimental setup. In general if you have a reacting mixture producing hydrogen you can close the vessel where the reaction takes place using a stopper with a glass tube and just ignite hydrogen that leaves through the tube. It can be still dangerous though, plenty of fine prints and disclaimers.

are there any other possible solutions apart from burning it?

No realy, because H2 is inert and doesn't react by itself. Also absorption is not realy known.
What prozess you are talking about.

making sulfuric acid by electrolosis. apparently the reaction will give off hydrogen gas for as long as the reaction takes place, and the reaction will take many hours.

can i use an activated carbon filter with a suction fan and duct pipe?

Normally this is no problem if you dont produce 100liters of H2, you can just open a window.

H2 is to small to be adsorbed on activated charcoal.

It depends on what your objective is. Were you doing an experiment that caused the gas to fill the room? Is this a hypothetical question to find the number of methods of removing H2 gas?

You should begin by evaluating the amount. Because, if the electricity source is a 4.5V battery, the hydrogen amount evolved over hours will never attain the explosive concentration in a room.

To burn evolved hydrogen, I'd trust a catalyst (Pd) better than a lighter. If the flame gets out, the catalyst reignites the hydrogen. Better, a (controlled!) proportion of air mixed with the hydrogen still burns the hydrogen while the "flame" temperature can remain below the autoignition of hydrogen in air, which is like 500°C. But the setup is more difficult and expensive.

That was what I wrote Enthalpy. Just open a window if unsure.
