Characterisation of Cy2(O)PH
« on: November 29, 2023, 06:42:42 AM »
I synthesised Cy2(O)PH from the corresponding Grignard in THF and diethyl phosphite. I need to assign the peaks of the collected NMR. I was expecting 2 peaks in the 31P NMR (product and starting material). I can see my product peak at around 48ppm and no starting material (assuming all has been used up), but there are another 2 peaks in my NMR which I have no clue about. The 1H NMR is incredibly messy, which is expected due to multiplets and very similar chemical environments. How can I present the 1H NMR data in my lab report?

I'm assuming that the additional P peaks are due to degradation of product with the water which is present[/img]
