What would this reaction give?
« on: December 03, 2023, 07:34:38 AM »
SO2 + NaOH = Na2SO3 + H2O

Or

SO2 + NaOH = NaHSO3

Are both possible? How does it happen so then?

Both is possible depending of the amount of reactants.
But the first equation is not balanced.

Because sodium sulfite is Na2SO3.
Also one H is missing.

Try again to develop the reaction.
