(1/1)

peppermint:
What are the different types of dry reactions in chemistry?
I have been searching and there is no specific answer and it is not in my reference books.

Hunter2:
1. Using anhydrous salts in a desicator.
2. Using vacuum and heat.
3. Using chemicals like thionylchloride  to convert water into gaseous compounds
4.Freeze drying

What do you mean by "types"? Are you looking for examples, or for some kind of classification?

wildfyr:
There are 3 types of reactions: Ones that water interferes with, ones that is indifferent to water, and ones that need water to work at all :).

Within each are hundreds of "named" reactions.
