corrosion
(1/1)
juliuscaesar:
Corrosion is the unwanted oxidation of a metal. The simplest way
to prevent corrosion is to paint the surface of the metal, to protect it from exposure to air and
to the water. A more effective method is to electroplate the metal, that is, to cover it with a compact film
zinc. Considering the knowledge of redox reactions, answer:
(a) What is the electrolyte solution in the formation of rust?
(b) How steel (iron) objects are protected by galvanising and anodes of
sacrifice?
(c) Suggest two metals that can be used in place of zinc for the galvanization of the
iron.
