i read something bout ammonium salts of non-oxidising acids and also ammonium salts of oxidising acids.
how to know where the acid is oxidising or non-oxidising. what's the difference?

One can look this up in oxidation-reduction potential tables.

There is one compound, namely ammonium persulfate (NH
4
)2
S
2O
8
which brokes the oxidation rules. Persulfate anion is a very strong oxidizer but not oxidises ammonia bound in its molecule..
