A Fish out of the water !
« on: November 02, 2024, 11:42:59 AM »
Hello all , I hope to find some interesting discussions on this forum and I also hope to learn a thing or two about Chemistry .   As the title suggests , I am pretty much a fish out of water when it comes to chemistry .  However , I am an expert in other scientific fields , some people might even say a genius . So hopefully I should be able to get my mind around chemistry too .

Ok , so my first question , what should be the first thing I research about chemistry using youtube videos etc ?

Also, does this forum allow  the  posting of a video to link the dicussion content ?

Best approach is to start with any General Chemistry handbook. There are even some free, open ones.

Or google not for some random videos, but for an undergraduate chemistry course/lectures.
ChemBuddy chemical calculators - stoichiometry, pH, concentration, buffer preparation, titrations.info

When I am online and have a specific chemistry question, I look at Wikipedia.org to start.

I find that the list of references at the bottom of each article in that source is helpful.

I also use the search feature in this forum to find past discussions

Thank you , yes I use wiki for Physics . My problem is at the moment I need to learn some terminology etc then I'll be able to research easier .
