Seperation Issue
« on: November 22, 2024, 12:58:39 PM »
Does anyone know of a condition or set of conditions that would cause 1,3,5 Trimethylbenzene and water to boil off at the same temperature or otherwise form some kind of azeotrope?

I've been searching for conditions that would cause this to occur but have yet to find one.  For a few reasons, I can't just throw them together and start testing.  I've asked about pressure, temperature, contaminants and catalysts but so far, all queries have come back that no azeotrope or other barrier to simple distillation should prevent them from separating.

the trimethylbenzene has a very high bp so, they should separate very well?
