Excellent article. I didn't even know potassium formed peroxides. I liked Theo's pic too, I think he has more money then he knows what to do with. :P

Thank you Mitch.  I'm glad you liked it.  It was one of the quickest things I've ever put together, as I didn't even start it until about 3:00 p.m. this afternoon.  I've just been so busy that I haven't had time to work on it.  I'm happy that it turned out alright.  It's true, Theo has a TON of sodium metal.  I think a lot of it dissapeared during his sodium party, however.  I'd love to have the resources and the land to have an alkali party of my own.  Throw some lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium and cesium in some water.  God that'd be crazy.   ;D

Potassium not only form peroxide KO2, with ozone it form ozonide KO3
Drawing of crystal structure attached.
Both O-O bonds show the same length, and only two utmost oxygen atoms show short contacts to potassium cations, so they should be charged (0.5 electrons).
