Periodic Table Photo Updated
« on: November 08, 2004, 08:12:26 PM »
Hey everyone.  I just wanted to let you know that I have updated my periodic table with some more pictures of Hydrogen, Oxygen, Magnesium, Scandium, Selenium, Platinum, Gold, Bismuth, and I think that's it.  The Hydrogen photos are now of gas discharge tubes of protium, deuterium, and a tritium traser that I have.  I have labeled the gas discharge tube of oxygen as O3 since it occured to me that as the voltage is applied, the oxygen will probably convert itself into ozone.  (Or at least a decent portion of it will).  So I just wanted to let everybody know about this in case they were wondering when an update would happen.

Yes.  You just need to download the periodic table file in the links section of this website.  Enjoy!   ;D

Wow.  299 downloads of my periodic table!  I may be getting a good digital camera for Christmas, so in my time off I'll probably re-photograph nearly all of my elements and have a nice, clean, update version for download.   ;D

I think a flash periodic table would be neat. enhanced with jdsurg's photos.

Yeah.  I think Mitch was thinking about using my element photos for the periodic table display here at the chemicalforums.  If he wants, I can send him all my individual photos so that he doesn't have to manually cut apart the combined photo.

That would be great. That is actually what has been holding me back from starting. :)

Okay.  Once I've done my re-photographing over the next few weeks, I'll send you a .zip file with all the photos in there in a .png format.

there is one. It was written by an Inorganic Chemist. It was featured on one of the episodes of the WB cartoon Animaniacs.

Wow.  317 downloads.  It feels real good to know that so many people are interested in, and want to see my collection.  I hope to add to it over the Christmas holiday and take better photos of nearly everything.  I'll make a news item about it when I do finally upload the next update.  I'm hoping that the lighting and positioning of all the elements will look perfect.  At that point I'll also be able to get Mitch the individual photos.  (Unless he wants the ones I have now, and I can always e-mail updated pictures as I create them).

I'll take the files now. Best if I do it over x-mas break instead of during the new school year. :)

Alright.  I'll probably get them to you after my card game tonight.  It'll be around 8:00 p.m. PST.   ;D  (Unless I mysteriously get ill here at work.   ;) ;D)
