I'm trying to remove some impurities (toluidine) from tolyl glycine via an acid base extraction.  I'm using the following method:

10g of tolyl glycine in sep funnel adding 100ml hexanes as my solvent shaking to dissolve
adding 25ml .5N NaOh 2x, separating and collecting acqueous fractions
adding 50ml 5N HCl to both acqueous and organic collections

solids seem to be crashing out but can't collect.  can someone help?
