at the beginning was treated with calcium carbonate, afterwards was cooled in an ice bath, and 30% aqueous hydrogen peroxide.
at the end to reaction mixture was added charcoal (DARCO G-60, Fisher) and 10% Pd/C.
1)what is the mechanism of the oxidation (please give in detail) ?
2)why was added charcoal (DARCO G-60, Fisher) and 10% Pd/C a the end of the reaction ?
thank you
