Converting Byproduct from sulphonation
« on: November 21, 2006, 02:36:20 AM »
Dear Sir/Ms

Although , i am a chemical engineer but I'm not much of a chemist and I need a bit of help with a project I am working on.

I am making a pilot plant to produce Sulphonic acid with 90 % active matter as result of reacting 98 % H2SO4 with Linear alkyl benzene.

The probelm that we get huge qty of spent H2SO4 acid at lower concentration.

I need to have a list to other sulphate by product that utilize spent H2SO4 acid at 70 to 73 % concentration other wise the whole project is not feasible

i have nominated some products like: ( but i need to screen only those who can be driven out of 70 % H2SO4 reaction )

Also i need there reaction description

SODIUM SULPHIDES
SODIUM SULPHITES
DISODIUM SULPHATE
OTHER SODIUM SULPHATES
SULPHATES OF MAGNESIUM
SULPHATES OF COPPER
SULPHATES OF ZINC
SULPHATES OF BARIUM
OTHER SULPHATES
AMMONIUM SULPHATE
POTASSIUM SULPHATE
MAGNESIUM AND POTASSIUM BI-SULPHATE

Pls help
