Equilibrium question
« on: December 12, 2006, 08:40:29 AM »
Hi,

The ionization constant of benzoic acid is 6.46 x 10-5 and Ksp for silver benoate is 2.5 x 10-13. How many times is silver benzoate more soluble in a buffer of pH 3.19 compared to it's solubulity in pure water?

How do I do this problem? Can someone please explain.

How does pH influence concentration of benzoate anion? Hint: it can be protonated.
