First Post! -Question about Oxidation with KMnO4 :)
« on: December 28, 2006, 02:43:44 PM »
Hi!

Does anyone know if KMnO4 (potassium permanganate) can be used to oxidize a
salt like sodium chloride to make sodium hydroxide?

Best regards,

Antoine

Sodium hydroxide is not an oxidized sodium chloride, are you sure you understand what you are asking about?
