Testing fixed font
« on: April 25, 2004, 03:50:04 PM »
I can not figure out how to make this fixed font so everything lines up
there are only spaces no tabs

Clean Dry Air Components Percent
N2  Nitrogen             78.0836
O2  Oxygen               20.9466
Ar  Argon                 0.9345
CO2 Carbon Dioxide        0.0325
Ne  Neon                  0.0018
He  Helium                0.0005
All the rest              0.0005

This is an approximation
Clean = no particulate matter
Dry = no humidity
All the rest includes
Kr Krypton
SO2 Sulfur Dioxide
CH4 Methane
H2  Hydrogen
N20 Nitrous Oxide
Xe  Xenon
O3  Ozone
NO2 Nitrogen Dioxide
I2  Iodine
CO  Carbon Monoxide
NH4 Ammonia

If you're using "preformatted text" you can use the <code></code> bboard tag. Just relpace the "<>" with "[]"
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

maybe you can tell me what code is and bboard tag is
thanks

Sometimes the bboard will change the formating of texts in order to be "efficient". So if all the spaces and all the dead space is important you type in <code>whatever text</code> and the formatting is preserved.

Here is your post with the code tag with the "<>"replaces with "[]"

This works except that you can not use
 subscripts inside of a -pre-
Is there a way to use a fixed font like courier new?

did anyone try using the table command.. tables are useful for setting layouts.

Employees should do one thing: walk over there and you step on the friggin snake." - Jean-Pierre Garnier, CEO of Glaxosmithkline, June 2006
