Experimental Effusion Rate
« on: January 17, 2007, 10:14:01 PM »
I am working on the calculations for the effusion rate of napthtalene and other calculations for the pressures (in torr and atm).  I am stuck on this.  I have the amount of weight loss, temperature, and area of hole.  I am not able to relate the equation  for effusion rate to my experiment.  Effusion rate=ZwA=(pA(Avogadro's number)) / sqrt( 2(pi)MRT).  If anyone understands try to fill me in, or if there is an example experiment on-line anywhere, I could really appreciate the help.  Thank you.
