Concentration manipulator
« on: March 20, 2007, 05:45:04 PM »
I made this excel-sheet, and it is a good companion at monday morning, when you are out of coffee and everything just suck, even your calculator...

There is no macro's, virus or other bulls&$# in it. I will scan it in PDF as soon as I find a scanner:

So, now you dont need to think.
And its really great if you want to decide the volume, before the concentration.

The instruction for the table is written in plain "norwenglish" at the bottom.
No single thing abides, but all things flow.
Fragment to fragment clings, and thus they grow
Until we know and name them.
Then by degrees they change and are no more
The things we know.

That looks harder to use then a calculator!

P.S. You can download free drivers so you can print anything directly to a PDF file.

It seems like both of you are able to do things that I have been trying to work out how to do  ::) :

1. How do you get an excel sheet to be a web page?

2. Would you please provide names for the 'free drivers' to print directly to pdf. Somehow I seem to not get useful results on my google searches. (I have been tricking our manuscript tracking system into pdfing things for me, but this is not an elegant solution.)

Thank you in advance.

I have now found a pdf-er.

(Though encouragement about the best one would still be welcome.)

Mir - please forgive me for swamping your topic with unrelated posts...

These are the sites with pdf drivers that I am going to experiment with:

http://convert.neevia.com/
http://www.pdf995.com/download.html
http://www.pdfonline.com/

I spoke to my husband about the excel file to web site question. And he showed me how to do this using the geocities thing in 'Yahoo'. My grasp on these things is a bit shaky so will need to concentrate!

That is just a pure excel file hosted on the server, Internet Explorer opens it up directly in the webbrowser. Since I do not use IE, I load another program up to view it.

As for drivers. The first half of my college career I was a graphics design major, so I have a full sweet of graphics design software, and when you buy the creative suite from adobe, you get Acrobat professional, which comes with the printers-to-pdf drivers. They are alot more robust and feature rich, and is what I use. You can edit the PDFs and all kinds of fancy stuff. I just know other alternatives exist.

A quick search turned up this one:
http://www.cutepdf.com/
I make no claim on if it has/does not contain spyware or virus, so as always when downloading something you are unsure, check afterwards.

1. Concentration calculator... where did I heard this name? ;)

2. You may always install postscript drivers and then use GhostScript for conversion - or something like http://www.ps2pdf.com/convert/convert.htm
ChemBuddy chemical calculators - stoichiometry, pH, concentration, buffer preparation, titrations.info
