fired heater design
« on: March 16, 2007, 12:49:32 PM »
We are a group of chemical engineering students working on a project on furnace design. However, we have some queries during the design process and would be grateful if anyone can help to clear our queries.

1) For fired heater for a heating diesel to 380C, what is the typical range for pressure drop in the convection section of a heater using 3 rows bare tubes and 35 rows finned tubes? Mass flow velocity of flue gas is around 500000 lb/hr.
We got a value which is very small (less than 1 inH2O) which doesn't seem to make any sense to us.

2) Is there any online guidelines/ brochures that we can check out the estimated cost of industrial heaters?

We would appreciate it very much if you are able to help and guide us. Thanks!
