Adsorption $ Chemisorption in VOC's?

Newbie here...

I'm trying to understand a "solution" as well as trying determine its ingredients and compounds. This solution (organic substitution?) helps with malodors/toxic/noxious gases found in VOC's like Xylene and Tolouene.

It has the general form of;
nC10 H16 *n' C10 H16 O
 where n=25 to 30 and n'=20 to 25

the organic substitution step in the case of acetones and MEK have the reaction;
nC10 H16 *n' C10 H16 O + Cx Hy Oz>
nC10 H16 *n' C10+x H16+y o1+z
(xyz)= addition reaction.


Is this a series of "simple" ingredients like essential oils and emulsifiers? Any idea as to which actual ingredients? How is this solution different from malodors like methane or fish smells? Is it something special in this formula that handles xylene or tolouene?
