Acetic Acid Recovery

I have 8-10% Acetic acid concentration in Effluent & would like to recoverit economically.
During my literature search I found that higher organic phosphene oxide molecules in some solvent are very good for the selectivity in Liquid Liquid extraction system. One such extractant is trioctyl phosphene oxide with a selectivity of 6 towards acetic acid with very low solubility in water.

Can Anyone suggest any better solution for this problem where operating cost is further reduced based on your actual experience. I am sure many people are recovering acetic acid from effluent.

Hi technologist,

I used acetic acid as a demulsifier before (liquid-liquid extraction of oil-water).  Unfortunately, I am not sure how much acetic acid would separate with the oil.  Then there is the problem of extracting the oil from the acetic acid...

What strength do you want the final effluent to have (50%?).

I am looking for any amount of recovery of acetic acid more than 50%.

I have gone thru it before my posting....
I feel that Organic Phosphene oxides r much better than these 2.....bcoz loss of solvent in water is almost  negligible in that case compared to these 2.

As a technologist I always emphasize on "cost of operation" bcoz any technology is not practical unless it is competitive.

Therefore, looking for better things...
