ACETAL - COMBUSTS WITH COLORLESS FLAME
« on: April 06, 2007, 09:41:07 PM »
I have been trying to figure out why Acetal burns with a colorless flame. I tested it cause I could not believe it, and I found it to be true. I started investigating why? so far the only reason I can come up with is, equating release of energy with heat and light.

If you consider Gibbs Equation, everything reacts or changes to go to a lower energy level. This drop energy level will give out heat and light? the emitted light is in a wavelenght that human eye can not recognize it, just like hearing high pitched and low pitched sounds.

does this makes sense or load of DUNG? if some one knows an answer or better explanation please let me know.
