can someone pls help with these units
« on: April 18, 2007, 09:20:08 AM »
Dear board,

I have been taught about the mole concept where in my high school:
1 mole(n) of sunstance is 6.02x10^23 - units(mol)
the molar mass is mass of one mole of substance in grams - units(g/mol)
mass of a substance - units (g)

But this year for my diploma the lecturer is using the unit gmol in the ideal gas equation.
Can anyone please explain to me what this strange unit means and its link to the mole

thank you.

chemical jargon = moles, sometime it is inappropriate abbreviation gmol-1
