Creating Rocket fuel/black powder
« on: May 02, 2007, 11:32:22 PM »
Im planning on making a rocket just for hell of it and high schools starting to get really boring so I'm looking for some excitement as well. Ive decided to use black powder for the fuel to make the thrust but where could I get sulfur and saltpeter?

You might want to check your local regulations regarding the construction of rockets before you begin.

The thread that could have been found with a Search: Suppliers

The website that will sell you the "gear": Skylighter.

Unfortunately, they won't sell it to you if you are under 21, so i guess that rules you out. (Maybe you should think about why this is!).

Another source you could try is a garden centre in the fertiliser section.

Oh, and this belongs in Citizen Chemist.

Have you researched other potential fuels?
