solubility
« on: June 10, 2007, 09:41:08 PM »
the solubility product of SrCO3 is 1.6*10*-9. To a solution containing .175g of Sr was added solid Na2CO3 unitil the CO3 concentration was 2.50*10-6. What mass of SrCO3 was precipitated?
SrCO3 = Sr + Na2CO3
1.6*10*-9/ 2.5*10*-6=Sr
Sr=0.00064 mol/L* Molar mass to find the mass
i don't know know whether this is the right method please help.

Sr=0.00064 mol/L

So far so good. But without solution volume you can't do anything more.

Hello I am new here.
I have a problem with my chemistry experiment. I want to ask for some opinion from you guys about the solubility of chlorine gas in ethanol.  Can anyone just show me the equation of this reaction?

SrCO3 = Sr + Na2CO3
This reaction is wrong
Sr2+ + Na2CO3 = SrCO3(s) + 2Na+

SrCO3 = Sr + Na2CO3
This reaction is wrong
Sr2+ + Na2CO3 = SrCO3(s) + 2Na+
Chlorine, of course can react with ethanol, but you are talking about solubility. Solubility is a physical process that cannot be written a chemical reaction.
