reaction of barium oxide
« on: June 14, 2007, 12:00:32 PM »
the question is: when bao2 is reacted with water, barium hydrooxide and another compound are formed. when the solution is acidified, and added to potassium iodide solution, iodine is formed.
suggest and explaination for these observations and write equations for the reactions occuring.

Try to write down a balanced reaction (hint BaO2 is a peroxide)
