Assuming the Z = benzyloxycarbonyl, I'd imagine the cysteine would dimerise relatively easily, even in air, so

Cys -> CysOMe (with TMS diazomethane or similar? - may hit the SH too?) -> Z-CysOMe -> (Z-CyS-OMe)2?

thank sjb
now my synthesis route is (Cys)2 --->(CBZ-Cys-OH)2
--->(CBZ-Cys-OMe)2
(CBZ-Cys-OH)2 and (CBZ-Cys-OMe)2 i have got,but I not sure ,because I   have less information about them, maybe somebody can help me.
