Hello hardiskuae,

Here is a good link on Gear Pumps:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gear_pump

Which type are you thinking about?  I imagine that a gear pump can be used for various types of scavenging.  For example, scavenging oil from the bottom of a motor?, or scavenging rocks from the bottom of a drilling rig?  I'm just curious as to your definition of scavenging...

Sincerely,

Eugene
