70 words to describe a simple candle.
« on: August 13, 2007, 11:25:07 PM »
Hi, I'm a new in this forum. If i'm writing in a wrong place, just forgive me.

My question is simple. In our first chemistry lab, teacher told us that we need to describe a simple candle with 70 words.  :o  Is it possible to do that?  Because I can't think about 70 words describing a small, white, stinky, short candle.  :)   ???

Perhaps you can describe the types of chemical reactions that occur when the candle is burning.  Or, the chemical composition and physical/chemical properties of the candle.

That would be easy.  :)

But the point of this lab is, to get a candle and describe it without burning it.  So you can't say that it's tall.  You need to compare one thing to another.  For example, the candle is white like a board.

I think this is a way that he want us to do it.  But I don't think I can make up a 70 qualiative and quontative just on a simple candle.  If you don't get 70, you won't get an "A".

That's why I'm here for advise... How should I do this.

I think you are misunderstanding the assignment, or communicating it to us poorly.

Yggdrasil's suggest is the only logical thing to think of, when given an assignment like this, with regards to chemistry.
