Chemical to remove color from plastic

Is there a chemical that will remove color from translucent injection molded plastic (thin ... 3mm thick max) to make it a clear color without warping it?

Depends on what thype of plastic. Ethanol, is a pretty good solvent, but it depends on what kind of dye is used and all that.
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

It's injection molded OEM Automotive plastic if that helps.

Also, how long should the plastic stay submerged in the ethanol without risk of damaging the plastic?
