ion concentrations calculation
« on: August 31, 2007, 12:56:11 PM »
How many milligrams of MgI2 must be added to 250 ml of 0.0876 M KI to produce a solution  with [I-] = 0.1000 M?

I can't get the right answer.

The correct answer is 430 mg.

Thank you.

How much I- is in the solution to begin with?
How much do you have to add to the solution to get the desired amount?

Remember MgI2 gives you 2 I- for each mol of MgI2.
