propylamine and water
« on: September 06, 2007, 06:19:18 PM »
What would the chemical equation look like for a reaction between C3H7NH2, a base, with water? Would it be C3H7NH2 + H20 yields so and so? If so, how do I determine what it yields? Thanks for any help. I'm very confused.

With what type of chemicals do you normally see bases reacting?

Yup.  Recall that water can act as an acid.
