I was wondering...If two reactants have the same mass (eg. 1.0g) and they are present in a 1:2 ratio...is it possible to calculate the mass of the excess reactant..WITHOUT finding the number of mole and so on... >:( ::) :-[ :-X

To start any calculations concerning limiting (or excess) reagent you should know an exact stoichiometry of reaction (balanced equation).

In your example you have 1:1 mass ratio of reagent, and probably 1:2 molar ratio of reagents but no reaction is given
