real world chemistry question
« on: October 09, 2007, 09:33:38 PM »
The question is:

How much 19% ammonium hydroxide would you need to add to 50 gallons of water to get the pH to increase from 6.8 to 9.0.

I have been working on this for a couple days for a friend and have been unable to figure it out.

any help is appreciated

Start from calculations of OH- conceetration at both pH, the concnetratu\ion of ammonia at higher pH
