Entropy problems
« on: October 06, 2007, 04:00:03 AM »
Given that Sm = 29.79 JK-1mol-1 for bimuth at 100K and
the following tabulated heat capacities data, compute the standard molar entropy of bismuth at 200K.

T/K                   100     120     140     150    160    180     200
Cp,m/JK-1mol-1  23.00  23.74  24.25  24.44  24.61  24.89  25.11

Compare the value to the value that would be obtained by taking the heat capacity to be constant at 24.44 JK-1mol-1 over this range.

This is my attempted answers:

S(200 K) = 29.79 + 24.44 ln 2 = 46.73 JK-1mol-1

but how can I get the another S (200 K) for the tabulated datas? Thank you!
