Sharks response to Chlorine

(1/2) > >>

dancinftuliptoes:
How long will a shark survive in a chlorinated pool?

Mr Amino:
It depends on the type of shark, the size of the shark, and the amount of chlorine but my guess would be not very long at all.

Also, it is not salt water and I don't think that would bode well for the shark.  ;) ..Unless it is a Bull shark or some other species capable of tolerating fresh water.

I'd say most normal sharks would not survive longer than 12-24 hours.

Mitch:
11 hours 46 minutes and 13 seconds ;)

jdurg:
Well, how long would you be able to survive if you were ingesting bleach and inhaling bleach fumes?  That's akin to what the shark would experience since its gills would be taking in a dilute bleach solution.
