Weight of pyrite ore
« on: October 13, 2007, 11:10:18 PM »
A sample of pyrite ore (impure FeS2) is precipitated to BaSO4. What weight of pyrite ore must be taken for analysis so that the BaSO4 precipitate weight obtained will be equal to one-half that of the percent S in the sample?

FeSO4 + BaS2  -->  FeS2 + BaSO4

this is reaction equation, but there are no numerical values to find weight.

Please read forum rules.

Start with all relevant reaction equations. This is simple stoichiometry.
