Why is crosslinked polystyrene divinylbenzene yellow ?
« on: October 15, 2007, 06:35:43 AM »
I was just wondering, why highly crosslinked PSDVB is yellow or even orange, brown?
I'm refering to the colum packing for analytical chemistry.
'Standard' PSDVB is white but the highly crosslinked one, although is supposed to have just more of the same type of crosslinks, is coloured (yellow to brown).
Is it impurities? What's this colour?
