predicting products for chemical reaction

54321:
i just want someone to explain to me how to write product equation for chemical reaction.
One of examples is:
barium chloride reacts with hydrogen phosphate to form.... ???
hope u can explain this to me

dexangeles:
here's a hint: u have cations and anions --- first you need to figure out what consists of Barium Chloride, and Hydrogen Phosphate.  Phosphate is a polyatomic ion.

show us what you've done so far, and we'll help you through it

i dont know if its right though
BaCl2+H3PO4->
then what should i do?

Mitch:
I'll give you one product and you figure out the other: HCl

dexangeles:
you're on the right track --- Mitch gave you one product already as a hint
just think of CATIONS and ANIONS
