coloured Calcium complex
« on: October 18, 2007, 11:35:35 AM »
Transition metals form coloured complexes all of the time, and the colour depends on the way the d-shell is affected by the ligands. Calcium, on the other hand, will form complexes, but has no d-shell. Does this mean that it cannot form a coloured complex at all? Are there ANY examples of a coloured calcium complex?

any thoughts would be helpful
