What's a good organic presentation
« on: January 26, 2005, 11:44:24 PM »
Last semester I did a general presentation of "why organic chemistry is important", especially in the medical field as an example (eg. lactoferrin)
you know too many people say "why do i have to take this, im not gonna use it when i'm all done with it?"
i think that's the sorriest excuse there is IMHO
especially most of the students in there want to be in the medical field
i think it's pathetic they even say it

can someone give me ideas?
im not asking for you to do the research for it, i'll do that cause i enjoy it
i just need topics basically  :-\

generic drugs has been done
pain killers (NSAID) has been done
nicotene has been done

One of  spectacular achievements in medicinal chemistry in last three decades are ACE inhibitors. This is a very good example of using computer modelling in drugs development.
