Boiled Sugar
« on: October 22, 2007, 03:44:02 PM »
I have about 25# of sugar that has been boiled in water too long and is now a pile of goop about the consistency of unbeaten, uncooked egg whites, or worse.  I realize that this is a chemical reaction, but my question is, is there a way to return it to a liquid state?  Is there any hope for it other than 25# of rock candy?

You probably made caramel. You probably can't return it to a liquid state.

25 pounds of taffy sure would be nice.
