Quantization of energy

Can someone explain planck's quantization of energy to me? I am so confused as to what E=nhv means. Thanks.

Dear Dipndots,

For the “Planck’s Constant” you may read:

And for the Calculation you may read the Forum-Question:
 Therein ΔE is the Energy Difference between two states of the molecule.
One State is usually the "Ground State", and so the Energy corresponds with a given Wavelength of Absorption in the Spectrum.
