Gas Law Density Prob. Please Help ASAP
« on: January 30, 2005, 03:12:13 PM »
I am having a problem with my school's internet homework program. I have a problem that is as follows:
Diethyl ether (C2H5)2o, vaporizes easily at room temp. If the vapor exerts a P of 233 mmHg in a flask at 25 deg. C, what is the density. I use the eqn d=PM/Rt but no matter what I get out the program says it's wrong. Can anyone show me what they get so I can compare?

d=pM/RT

p=233/760 atm
M= 74 grams
R=0.082 L atm / (mol deg)
T =  273 + 25 = 298 K

d= 0.93 g/L
