Separation of a MicroMixture Please help
« on: November 08, 2007, 03:06:58 PM »
In my chem class we have to do a lab of separation of a micromixture. We do not know what the substances are in the mixture. All we know is there is one element, on ionic substance, one nonpolar covalent substance, on network solid, and on metallic substance. I know how to get the ionic substance out. My teacher said the magnet may work, we don't know if the metallic substance is magnetic or not. Does anyone know how to get the other substances separated? Please help me!  My teacher said it should only take about 5 minutes to separate everything.
