I have a picture of Cipro in the attachement and in one of the questions it asks

How may sp2 hybridized methines does Cipro have?

I think the answer is one is this correct if not pleae explain.

.doc files can have nasty macros. Trasnfer everything into notepad and save it as a .txt and that can be uploaded.
Most Common Suggestions I Make on the Forums.
1. Start by writing a balanced chemical equation.
2. Don't confuse thermodynamic stability with chemical reactivity.
3. Forum Supports LaTex

first of all: ask yourself what is a methine?

then: what does sp2 hybridization tell you?

Hi,

A methine is C-H and sp2 hybridization refers to have a trigonal shape, with an ideal angle of 120 degrees.

So would the answer in this case be zero is this correct.

Hint - try to add all hydrogen atoms to above formula - 16 H are missing

hint: maybe it's easier if you put the missing carbons and hydrogens in so you can visualize it more
