A question about microbiology!

Could some bacteria grow on the streak plate and not be seen using the pour plate technique?

Hi Extra love,

Theoretically speaking, either technique should work for almost all bacteria...but... there are always exceptions to every rule.  This could be due to contamination, temperature, asceptic technique, etc...

This brings another question to mind, if all bacteria grew with one method, why would another one be used????

Great question.
