writing a net ionic equation
« on: December 02, 2007, 01:06:45 PM »
I had Pb(NO3)2 and I added HCl to it so it precipitated.  Then I added water to it and heated it up to disolve it.  I need to write the net ionic equation. So far I have:
Pb 2+ (s) + Cl (s) + H2O(l) = PbCl2(aq) + H2O(l)

I know something is wrong.  can someone help?

What ions are produced during HCl dissociation?
